Managing Printer Settings

The Goflow Printer App allows you to print directly from Goflow to your local or network printers. You can print:

• Pick Lists
• Shipment Documents
• Purchase Orders
• Barcode Labels
• Inbound Shipment Box Labels
• Location Labels

Installing the Printer App

To enable Goflow to communicate with your printers, install the Goflow Printer Companion on each computer that uses Goflow. Follow these steps:

1. From the left sidebar, go to Settings › Printing.
2. Click Download App to download the installer file.
3. Locate the downloaded file and run the Goflow Printer Companion installer.
4. After installation, reload the Settings › Printing page.

A green Connected checkmark confirms the printer app is installed and running.

The printer app is only compatible with Windows.

Accessing Network Printers

To access printers shared on a local network, follow these steps:

1. Open the Windows Services console:
   • Search for Services in the Start Menu, or
   • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
2. Locate the Goflow Printer Companion service.
3. Right-click the service and select Properties.
4. Go to the Log On tab.
5. Select Log on as: This account.
6. Enter your computer's local user account:
   • Click Browse.
   • In the Select User dialog, click Advanced.
   • Click Find Now, then select your local username from the list.
   • Click OK, then again OK to confirm.
7. Enter and confirm your Windows login password.
8. Click Apply to save your changes.
9. Click OK to close the service.
10. Right-click the service and click Restart.
11. Reload the Settings › Printing page in Goflow.

Administrator privileges may be required when modifying services.

Restarting the Printer App

If the printer service stops unexpectedly, such as after a Windows update, restart it using the following steps:

1. Open the Windows Services console:
   • Search for Services in the Start Menu, or
   • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
2. Locate the Goflow Printer Companion service.
3. Right-click the service and select Start.
4. After restarting, reload the Settings › Printing page.

A green Connected checkmark confirms the printer app is running again.

Setting Printer Defaults

When generating documents in Goflow, you’ll be prompted to select a printer. You can avoid selecting a printer each time by setting default printers for each document type. Follow these steps:

1. From the left sidebar, go to Settings › Printing.
2. For each document type, select the default printer you want to use.
3. Click Save to apply your settings.

Printer defaults are set per machine. Set defaults on each computer where Goflow is used.
