Managing Order Shipping Addresses
Properly configuring your shipping addresses ensures accurate rate shopping and controls how your address is presented to customers.
In addition to the destination address unique for each order, small parcel shipments use two distinct origin addresses:
- Ship-From Address - The pickup location. This address is used to calculate shipping rates.
- Return Address - The location where undeliverable packages are returned. This address appears on shipping labels and other shipment documents.
[!Note]
The return address is used for order shipping labels. The address used for return shipping labels is managed separately on the Returns page and is not related to order address settings.
For both address types, choose what address to use:
- Warehouse - Use the address of the order warehouse.
- Unique - Use a custom address unique to each store. This is useful if you prefer not to display your warehouse address, or if you want returns routed to a separate processing location.
- Combination - Use the warehouse address but override the company name. This is useful if you're using a third-party warehouse that also fulfills for other sellers.
To manage order shipping addresses, follow these steps:
- From the left sidebar, go to Directory › Stores, and open your store.
- On the Addresses card, click the pencil icon to Edit.
- Choose whether to use the warehouse address or a unique address.
- Click Save to apply the address settings.
Use the Copy From Other Address button to quickly reuse an existing address.
Some dropship channels require that their own address appear on all shipping documents. For these channels, the return address is fixed and cannot be customized.
