Managing Products in Bulk

The Goflow Product Imports tool lets you manage large sets of products quickly and efficiently. Use Product Imports to:

Review the general guidelines for bulk imports and working with CSV files.

To export product fields, use Product Custom Exports.

Only the Item Number header is required. All other product field headers are optional. You can include them now when creating the product, update them later, or simply leave them blank to use their default values.

The item number cannot be changed once created. Carefully plan your product naming conventions before creating new products.

Child standard products must already exist before creating their kit or group parent.

The template takes three headers:

Add one row for each child product. In the example below, KIT-100 has one child SKU-200 x2, while KIT-101 has two children SKU-201 x1 and SKU-202 x1:

Downloading a Custom CSV Template

The number of product fields available for update is extensive, and including them all in a CSV upload would create unnecessary clutter and increase the risk of errors. Goflow allows you to generate a template with only the fields you want to update, keeping the process clear and simple, and ensuring that bulk uploads affect only the fields you intend to update.

To download a custom template, follow these steps:

  1. Click the + icon to expand the list of available field headers.
  2. Select the fields you want to update. To include all fields in a section, click Select All within that section.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click Download CSV Template.

Selecting fields only controls which headers appear in the custom download. These selections do not limit which fields can be updated on upload. Any valid header included in your CSV file, whether from this download or a previous one, can be used to update product fields.

You don’t need to download a CSV template; you can create your own import file. Just make sure all headers are spelled correctly and match valid field names. Invalid headers will be ignored. Headers are case-insensitive, so capitalization does not matter.
