Managing Order Fulfillment

The Manage Fulfillment tool empowers you to efficiently handle multi-line or multi-quantity orders by allowing you to select different fulfillment options for different parts of an order. With Manage Fulfillment, you can easily split and manage orders in multiple ways, such as:

This flexibility helps you optimize your fulfillment process to better meet operational needs and customer expectations.

Managing Fulfillment for a Single Order

Manage Fulfillment is available for orders that meet the following criteria:

When selecting different warehouses or different actions for parts of an order, the order will be split into two or more separate orders. Each split will retain the same order number, but will contain different parts of the original order. All tags, notes, and logs from the original order are inherited by each split up to the time of separation. After splitting, each order can be fulfilled independently from its assigned warehouse. Within a split order, you can click under the Products header to view all the original order lines and their current status.

While you can always change the warehouse or update the status of each split individually, you will not be able to recombine the splits back into a single order.

Split orders cannot be recombined.

To manage fulfillment for a single order, follow these steps:

  1. From the left sidebar, go to Orders, and open the order.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the three-dot menu and select Manage Fulfillment.
  3. For each order line, you can select different warehouses and/or choose a different action.
  4. For multi-quantity lines, update the quantity on the current line, then click the plus sign to add another line.
  5. To apply the same warehouse and/or action to all order lines, use the top selector.
  6. Once you are satisfied with the changes, click Next to proceed.
  7. Review the order splits in the preview modal to ensure they are correct, then click Save.

Warehouses with sufficient inventory are listed first, followed by the rest of your warehouses in alphabetical order. The clipboard icon color indicates the inventory status of the selected warehouse:

Select one of the following order actions: On Hold, Backorder, Cancel, Purchase to Order, or Dropship. When you choose to cancel an order line, proceed with the following steps:

  2. Select the appropriate cancellation reason.
  3. To apply the same reason to all order lines, use the top selector.
  4. Once you are satisfied with your selections, click Next to continue.
  5. Review the order splits in the preview modal to ensure they are correct, then click Save.

Cancelled orders cannot be reopened.
