Designated warehouse locations are the aisles and bins where products are normally stored within a warehouse. Assign locations to your products so pickers can easily locate them on order pick lists.
Designated locations are static, and indicate where a product is normally kept. They differ from inventory locations, which track inventory units in real-time.
Add and manage designated locations directly from the product page. Follow these steps:
In addition to the primary location, you can add additional storage locations within the same warehouse. Hover over the right side of the existing location, and click the plus (+) icon that appears to add another location.
If you operate multiple warehouses, you can assign designated locations for each warehouse. Click the large plus (+) icon on the right to add another warehouse.
Update existing locations using the same steps. To delete a single location, click the X icon next to it. To delete all locations for a warehouse, click the trash bin icon.
Use a CSV file to manage designated locations for multiple products at once. Follow these steps:
To add new locations, include the item numbers and locations. This sample file adds the location Aisle-A, Bin-1 to product SKU-12345:
| Item Number | Aisle | Bin |
|---|---|---|
| SKU-12345 | A | 1 |
While uploading the file, ensure the option Keep as Is remains checked.
To replace existing locations with new ones, include the same columns in your file as when adding new locations. When uploading the file, select the option Delete locations for products on this file. This option removes the existing locations and replaces them with the locations specified in your upload file.
Replacing locations may result in permanent data loss. This action cannot be undone. Make sure your file contains all the product locations before uploading.
